Showtime’s TWIN PEAKS: Full Cast List Revealed

TWIN PEAKS Reveals Much-Anticipated Cast

After much debate and speculation, the cast list for 2017’s most anticipated series has been released.

Today, Deadline broke the hotly anticipated news of the full-cast roster for the new Showtime-produced season of David Lynch’s TWIN PEAKS. As with many things Lynch, it features an unexpected and fascinating collection of talents.

The beloved, groundbreaking TWIN PEAKS will return after over two decades, with many members of the original cult series’ cast in tow. Among them are Kyle MacLachlan (Dale Cooper), Ray Wise (Leland Palmer), Sheryl Lee (Laura Palmer), and Sherilyn Fenn (Audrey Horne). Furthermore, Deadline‘s reveal has brought a compelling slew of newly added names to the fore:

The list of new additions include Amanda Seyfried, Naomi Watts, Ashley Judd, Jennifer Jason Leigh, Laura Dern, Ernie Hudson, Michael Cera, Trent Reznor, Jessica Szohr, Jane Levy, Richard Chamberlain, Robert Knepper, Jim Belushi, Tom Sizemore, Ethan Suplee, Balthazar Getty, Bailey Chase, David Koechner, and Larry Clarke.

TWIN PEAKS’ additions include several veterans of David Lynch cinema. Naomi Watts gave an unforgettable performance anchoring Lynch’s 2001 film MULHOLLAND DRIVE. Laura Dern goes back several decades with the auteur, having featured in BLUE VELVET, WILD AT HEART, and INLAND EMPIRE. Balthazar Getty starred in LOST HIGHWAY back in 1997.

Equally intriguing, though, are those on board TWIN PEAKS who have never been near the Lynchverse. Like, for instance, SUPERBAD’s Michael Cera, Jim Belushi (ACCORDING TO JIM), and David Koechner, who broke out as ANCHORMAN’s rowdy sportscaster Champ Kind. Eddie Vedder and Trent Reznor, acclaimed frontmen for the bands Pearl Jam and Nine Inch Nails, are also going to be acting in TWIN PEAKS, per Deadline. As always with David Lynch, the series’ esoteric blend of casting choices further ensures that, come next year, TWIN PEAKS will be anything but by-the-book.
